New AndersUtrecht podcast series

The AndersUtrecht network has launched a new podcast series that brings together scholars and grassroots organizations. AndersUtrecht is a transdisciplinary network that aims to strengthen the cooperation between grassroots initiatives working towards ecological sustainability and social change in the Utrecht Region. It celebrates the variety among existing initiatives that deal with the societal challenges in creative ways, and fosters dialogue between these organizations as well as with affiliated scholars. [urban interfaces] members central in this project is Dan Hassler-Forest.

In this podcast series, representatives of these organizations enter into discussion with different scholars to discuss how they tackle the challenges of sustainability transformation from below. These discussions explore the shared ideas between academics working on organizational alternatives and local initiatives experimenting with real alternatives to the default capitalist model. The podcast series, which will be released monthly, illustrates the breadth and variety of grassroots organizations in and around Utrecht, while also showing how much common ground there is for collaboration and transformation. They thereby represent an important step in strengthening the dialogue between Utrecht University and grassroots organizations, while drawing attention to the diversity of practices and ideas that circulate amongst the members of AndersUtrecht for social change.

Each episode focuses on urban life and informs the audience about major challenges and opportunities generated by grassroots organizations. The participants in these podcasts provide a wealth of hints and tips to help citizens participate in ongoing processes of social transformation.
